Soon, Kargil to have Full-Fledged airport
Good news for those, who want to visit Kargil. As the Jammu & Kashmir government has planned & announced that the Kargil airport will be enhanced to be used as a full-fledged airport for commercial flight operations. Well, Kargil is the second largest town in the Ladakh after Leh.
BVR Subrahmanyam, the chief secretary of Jammu & Kashmir government has recently meet union secretary civil aviation & other Airport Authority of India officials in the national capital for discussion of the development of current infrastructure of Kargil airport.
As per the current news, the memorandum of understating with AAI will get signed by 15 July. And by the end of August, the foundation stone for the expansion of the runway will be laid by the authorities In context with the development work.
In J&K, Kargil has headquarters in Ladakh’s Kargil district which is located 60km from Drass, 204km from Srinagar & 1047km from Delhi. As the city has many prominent sites such as Suru Valley, Mulbekh Monastery, Nunkun Mountain, Rngdum & Kargil Pensi La Lake.
