Guwahati-Dhaka direct flight from 1st July
Good news for the people of Assam as they are getting their first international flight under the International Air connectivity scheme. Well, this first international flight is also known as “International Udaan Scheme” which comes under Udaan Scheme of the Indian government. Where the first flight will be Guwahati – Dhaka flight & which is going to commence its first journey from July 1.
As per the reports, the one way trip between Guwahati & Dhaka will cost Rs 335 per person and the service will be provided by Spice jet flight. Meanwhile, under Assam government’s initiative private carrier Spice Jet has been selected in January to start operating flight services to Dhaka & Bangkok.
Earlier, Assam has proposed that Guwahati will connected to six more international tourist destination such as Yangon, Bangkok, Dhaka, Kula-Lumper, Singapore & Kathmandu. But the plan was drop in a mid-way as the bid of only two routes were received.
Meanwhile, Pranjit Singha, the Tripura transport & tourism minister said that flights between the northern eastern states & other important cities of Bangladesh will promote tourism. Good news is there will be another direct flight to Bangkok will commence after 15 August 2019.
