Painted with “Ik Omkar” on wing, Air India starts new flight from Amritsar To London
On the eve of 550th birth-anniversary of Guru Nanak, which is going to be celebrated on 12th November, Air India has shown a positive sign of introducing its Dreamliner Boeing 787, a direct flight from Amritsar to London, painted “Ik Onkar”on its wing. Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes are currently being used by Air India for long distance travels.
Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab,has indicated this by posting a tweet of Air India with few pictures of the airplane.
Ik Omkar is an important symbol and mantra in the Sikh religion founded by Guru Nanak Dev. It means that God is present everywhere whose name is ‘Om’.
Without any delay, Air India made up his mind that this would be most appropriate time to introduce a direct flight from Amritsar to London. Air India CMD Ashwin Lohani, told in a press conference that the new look of the flight can be useful for encouraging the tourism which can be rendered all over world.
Earlier a flight from Amritsar to London has been launched on October 31, 2019. Contrary to this, the new flight has been launched, which will help a large number of Sikh people those who are living in UK .This move has been welcomed joyously. All the passengers who travelled in this historic flight, were given a warm welcome and a souvenir at Stanstead airport in UK by Air India and airport staff.
