Kerala Chief Minister Pinnarayi Vijayan today flagged off these buses. Olectra Greentech in conjunction with BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd. has manufactured buses in India. It is said that lithium-ion (Lion) battery has been installed in the buses which enables it to travel up to 250 kms in a single charge based.
The executive director of Olectra Geentech Limited – Mr. N Naga Satyam said that, Olectra BYD is proud to operate its electric buses in second state in the country (first was used in Himachal Pradesh). The company’s eBuzz K7 model will now start its commercial operations in Kerala – God’s own country.
eBuzz K7 is made such way that it offer protection from short circuit, over temperature and gives a lightening to ensure the passengers a safe ride.
But yet it is not clear that whether the electric buses will run on basis shuttle mode like the other buses of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). And even the tickets rates yet not decided.
