IRCTC announced special trains for Diwali, Chhath Puja
IRCTC has announced a number of Diwali and Chhath Puja special trains in view of the heavy passenger rush during the festive season. The Indian Railways made an announcement that the trains would run during different festivals in the month of October and November.
Obviously, Diwali would be celebrated on October 26 and 27 this year while mega festival of Chhath Puja would be held on November 2. The railway department has come forward with a list of trains that would run for the festival time to minimize the heavy rush of passengers .
Details of Diwali and Chhath Puja special trains:
This festival special train will run between Varanasi and Bhatinda from October 7 to November 4 this year. It will run on Mondays with only one stop en route at Lucknow.
Lucknow – Anand Vihar Terminal Special
This train will start from October 8 and will be continued till November 5. It will run only on Tuesdays leaving Lucknow at 7:05 PM and reaching Anand Vihar at 5:15 AM.
Varanasi – New Delhi
This is probably one of the busiest rail route as a matter of fact.The train will run on October 24, 27, 30 and November 2 with a stoppage at Charbagh. en route.
This train will run only on Fridays starting from October 4 and will be continued till November 1. The train will leave Gorakhpur at 10.10 PM and reach Chandigarh at 2:25 PM with Lucknow as a main stop en route.
This festival special train will start operating from October 8, and will be continued till November 5. It will run on every Tuesday, leaving Lucknow at 9:30 PM and reaching Nangal Dam at 1 PM.
In addition to this, three more trains have also been announced to ply between Haridwar – Malda, Gorakhpur – Howrah and Howrah – Chhapra. It is expected that a few more trains will soon be announced for easy and comfortable journey of passengers like never in past, in order to reach home on eve of this Diwali and Chhath Puja.
