Vande Bharat Express to operate on three routes
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) new launched superfast special train Vande Bharat Express (Train 18) will soon run on three new routes. Vande Bharat Express routes get additional three new ones – Bengaluru-Mangaluru, Mangaluru-Chennai, and Mangaluru-Hyderabad. The announcement came from Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, who mentioned that the high-speed train is one-of-a-kind.
The Vande Bharat Express recently made its maiden run and was built in Chennai in only 18 months. It is part of Prime Minister’s Make in India programme and is the country’s very first semi-high speed train.
The train made its maiden run from Delhi to Varanasi on February 17, 2019. Flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, Vande Bharat Express train is India’s first semi-high speed train equipped with GPS passenger information system, CCTV and multiple world-class passenger amenities.
