Tourists, be ready for helicopter ride in Goa!
There is good news for tourists who want to travel Goa by helicopter. Goa Tourism Development Corporation is going to make a helipad to promote heli-tourism in the state Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is going to build a helipad to promote heli-tourism in the state for those who are desirous travel by helicopter. The state government has allotted this project to a private company. According to the information, the government is going to spend 3.03 crore rupees on it. According to the reports, work will start on this project in October 2019 and expected to be completed by May 2020.
This helipad is being constructed at Ella in Old Goa. GTDC is working to promote heli-tourism in the state under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Union Ministry of Tourism. GTDC Executive Engineer Alan Periera said the helipad would be built over the area of 20920 sqm. This land belongs to the state tourism department . He explained, ‘Our priority is to make vacuum dewatering flooring for the helipad. Also, approach road, lights, compound wall are also to be arranged.
Apart from heli tourism, the state government is planning to promote adventure sports tourism in Goa. Goa, called the holiday capital of India, can also be enjoyed hop-on, hop-off bus, hot air balloon ride, sea rafting, battery operated bicycle ride and bungee jumping.The company who set up India’s first extreme adventure zone in Rishikesh in 2010, has launched its second bungee jumping destination in Goa on August 27.
