Travel from Manali to Leh at just Rs 2900
In a piece of great news for backpackers and those travelling on a budget, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has launched a luxury bus service from Manali to Leh at cheaper cost.The bus service that started on July 1 this year, will be continued the service till September 13.
A one-way ticket on the route costs INR 2900, a fraction of taxi fare on the same route. The move aims to make travelling from Manali to Leh affordable as well as safer for solo travellers. A private taxi’s fare comes to around INR 20000 for the same journey (one-way), making it tougher for those not travelling in a group.

The 476 km long journey from Manali to Leh will take tourists to all the popular tourist stopovers like Baralacha, Tanglang La and Khardung La. Enroute one can enjoy the beautiful snow-covered peaks and mountain views. The 35-seater deluxe bus service is great for budget travellers as one can do return journey for just ₹2900.There’s more good news; the service also includes a night’s stay at Kyelang with complimentary dinner and breakfast. This is a great chance to see and experience snow during peak tourist season and before all routes gets closed for the winter.
Booking for the tour can be done online. Starting at 10 a.m. from Manali, the day one journey after stopping by at Rohtang Pass moves for a night stay at Hotel Chanderbhaga at Keylong. Day two starts out early at 5 a.m departure from Keylong to arrive at Leh by 7 p.m.
