Abhay Ghat; An unexplored place in Ahmedabad, not much on Tourists list!

Abhay Ghat is a memorial that is dedicated to Morarji Desai. The ghat is located in the banks of River Sabarmati in Ahmedabad. It is a black marble platform that is built at the spot of cremation of Morarji Desai, the former Prime Minister of India. Desai was the world’s oldest living former head of government.

Abhay Ghat holds the cremation spot of the former Prime Minister of India, Morarji Desai. There is a garden where one can find peace. Opposite to the Abhay Ghat, You can visit to famous Gandhi Ashram and Khadi Cloth shop.
How to Reach Abhay Ghat
Ahmedabad is easily accessible from any part of the country. It holds an international airport, which links it with many international destinations. Once inside the city, you can find numerous forms of transportation to reach the Abhay ghat. The ghat is located on banks of Sabarmati river, Near Ashram Road. Airport is very near to the Abhay Ghat/ The nearest is the Bus station in Vadaj .

You can find cabs, buses and autos from any part of the city to this spot. Frequency of transportation of this memorial is less and thus, reaching Abhay Ghat could be bit difficult. However, you have Google Maps which can let you reach here peacefully.
Best Time to Visit Abhay Ghat
If you visit during the summer season,the humidity and heat of the city can cause dehydration. Monsoons are always a hindrance for outdoor sightseeing. Thus, it is better to choose the winter season. Winter starts in October and ends in March. The climate is pleasing and clear for sightseeing. So, the best time is between October to February.

The memorial is open throughout the day and throughout the year. No entry charge or camera charge is imposed on any of the visitors.
