A darshini style eatery in Banglore serves budget meals

Besides this, Rice Combo for Rs 20 whereas, the huge thali at Rs 30.On the menu are Vangi Bhat, Puliyogare Chitranna, curd rice, ghee rice.
Named as Brahmin Bombat Chaat, run by Manjunath and his Mother Girijamma. Around 1000 people eat here daily.”Every Thursday we use to provide food at free of cost, but my Friends cautioned me that people would misuse it.So I started serving food at Rs 10,” said Manjunath.
Earlier, no one would recognize him, but now, when he goes out, people call out to him as the owner of the budget eatery. “That makes me happy,” he said. With no capital to start a business, he bought utensils from the Sunday Bazar (flea market) in in Chickpete. About 10 boys work at his eatery, some of them delivering food at customers’ doorsteps. Brahmin’s Bombat Chat opened months before the government-subsidized Indira Canteen and the JD(S)-run Appaji Canteen, both with similar pricing.
