Some delicious foods from Indonesia
I am grateful to say that Indonesia has lots of delicious foods, from Sabang to Merauke. It is amazing to notice that every part of Indonesia has its own traditional foods that are delicious and enjoyable. Given the fact that Indonesia has various types of animals, plants, herbs, and spices [ as known as rempah–rempah ], it causes people in Indonesia to be able to create foods with the rich and unique taste. Here are some of my favorite Indonesian foods that are worth trying :
Beef Rendang [ Padang, Sumatera Barat ]
You can easily find this food in every Padang Restaurant, including those that are located in the streets.
Indomie
It’s basically an instant noodle. I have to admit that Indomie is not good for your health, but it is obvious that Indomie is something that is enjoyable [ and extremely cheap ]. I do not advise you to eat Indomie on a daily basis, but trying it would be great.
Ikan Arsik [ Medan, Sumatera Utara ]
THIS IS BOMB. Haha! not really, but, I personally think that this is one of the most delicious foods in Indonesia. It’s an ‘Ikan Mas’ that is cooked with lots of herbs and spices, causing it to have a very unique taste and it smells really good also It is made from fish so it is quite healthy for you.
Seblak [ Bandung, Jawa Barat ]
Another unhealthy food, sorry. It is made from the combination of eggs, chips / ‘kerupuk’, noodles, kwetiaw [ Chinese food ], Batagor, and other traditional Indonesian street food. It tastes so good I can’t resist its good smell and its deliciousness. The price is usually cheap, and it varies from Rp 10.000 to Rp 20.000. In Bandung, you can find it almost everywhere
