Music, Food & Culture; Get ready to witness the Autumn Festival in Shillong
Shillong is all set for the popular Autumn Festival at Umiam Lake on October 26 and 27, a festival full of glitz and glamour. It is one of those festivals which are primarily celebrated in Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya,with beginning of the season.
The festival drew a lot of tourists from around the state with a huge success in the last time,since it was held, as per the officials. This time it will be celebrated in a much better and bigger fashion. As per reports, Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum (MTDF) had been hosting this festival since 2006, which continued till 2012 and was discontinued after it. However, the festival was broght back to consciousness again last year.
It is expected that the event will pull visitors, including domestic and international tourists in good numbers this year too. It will be celebrated in a much better way and bigger mode. Opus Production will be responsible for handling the event, which took over the reins from the MTDF last year.
The latest reports suggest that the two-day event will feature Mumbai-based rock band, an international DJ from the United States, including local bands too. Water sports, magic show, kid’s play area, food stalls, camping facilities, and much more will bet the other highlights of the event.
With the reference to this event, organisers mentioned that the budget has not been finalised till date but they are hoping to get more sponsors this time. Overall, the main objective of this festival is to organize in bigger and better way at this time so that it can attract people from outside Assam as well.
